Hey, links are a very important ranking signal for Google and Google is putting a lot of efforts into detecting bad backlinks. Earlier, It used to be that all you had to do was build as many links as possible to your site and you’d start ranking highly.

But, this is no longer the case now. The quality and relevance of your links matter far more than just quantity, and thus, spamming your links all over random digital directories no longer has the desired impact.

To make things clear: when someone says link building does not work anymore”, the person actually says “link spamming does not work anymore.

Link building is not dead. It has just been replaced by link earning. Google algorithm value quality backlinks now and can penalise you for spammy link building.

No. Obviously no. Link Building is not dead by any stretch of the imagination. However, the so-called link building of years back like directory link building, spam commenting, spam forum posts, social bookmarking etc is dead.

High-quality links still are the major factor and can give a significant boost in ranking. However, they have to be EARNED.

Link building is not dead. It has just evolved. Building and earning backlinks is still one of the most important SEO practices, as they signal to Google that your website is relevant, helpful and offers quality content on a particular topic.
